Heart Beats – The Knife

This project takes the song “Heart Beats” by The Knife and translates it into the visual realm via the use of digital publishing and in-depth audio analysis. The book is split into eight different pages, embodying the eight different segments of the song. Imagery for the layouts originates from three dimensional extrusion of spectral frequency display, spectral pitch display, animations of phase analysis, and html converted line drawings of various audio data. In addition, each page is denoted with start and end time stamps, as well as lyric samples proportionally scaled to the time line of the song.
